Start Your Journey

Why Is It Important to Know Your Family Roots?

Genealogy is one of the most powerful ways to understand your identity and connect with your family lineage. Creating a family tree is not just a historical exercise; it's a way to connect with your origins. By researching your ancestors, you uncover not just names and dates but the stories and decisions that shaped your current life. This knowledge allows you to better understand who you are, where you come from, and how certain values and traditions have been passed down through generations.

Knowing your family history helps preserve the legacy of your ancestors and gives you a strong sense of belonging. Through the records I uncover—key dates, places, and family connections—you gain valuable insights into your family's past. Our personalized research helps you bring these stories to life, so you can explore and share your unique family heritage with pride.

Let your family history come to life with my detailed and personalized research.

How Do I Help You Discover Your Family History?

Getting Started

The first step is a quick conversation — by phone, WhatsApp, or email — where I learn about your research goals, review the information you currently have, and answer any initial questions.

To begin your project, I require basic information about at least one ancestor—ideally including an official document such as a birth, marriage, or death certificate of a grandparent or great-grandparent, depending on your case.

Once you decide to proceed, payment for the Initial Evaluation ("Family Roots Starter" package), is required before I can start the research with full dedication and priority.

Research Process

Genealogical research involves tracing and documenting historical records to connect your ancestors to your family tree and reveal their stories and life journeys. I consult a wide range of sources, including:

  • → Censuses
  • → Civil records
  • → Church records
  • → Immigration records
  • → Newspapers and historical archives
  • → And much more

I help you build and expand your family tree and, whenever possible, solve the mysteries of your lineage. Whether you're seeking information about a specific ancestor or aiming to explore multiple generations, I am here to guide you on this fascinating journey into the past.

Throughout the process, I will keep you regularly updated with progress reports so you always know where the research stands and what discoveries have been made.

About Me - Brenda Martinez

I am Brenda Martínez, and my journey with genealogy began around ten years ago when I wanted to learn more about my ancestors and started researching on my own. My grandparents were no longer around to answer my questions, but that longing to connect with my family history turned into an adventure that changed my life. I discovered that genealogy was not just a hobby but a true passion that has become a permanent part of me.

My Passion for Discovering Family History

As I explored my own family lineage, I realized how the decisions and experiences of my ancestors have influenced my present life. Each discovery allowed me to better understand where I come from and appreciate the stories that have shaped my identity.

Helping Others Connect with Their Roots

Now, my goal is to help others discover their family history and connect with their roots. Through my genealogical research services, I offer people the opportunity to learn more about their past and preserve their family legacy for future generations.

My work is grounded in Mexican genealogical records — civil registries, church archives, census records, and migration documents — and I bring a genuine passion for uncovering the stories that connect families across generations, including those who built a new life in the United States.

Your family history is waiting to be discovered. Let me help you find it.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

I offer a personalized Mexican genealogy research service, including the creation of family trees, research in civil, church, census, and migration records, as well as consulting to address specific questions about your family history. My process is flexible and tailored to your goals.

The timeline depends on several factors: the availability and quality of records and the number of generations you want to explore. I start with the Family Roots Starter, an initial evaluation of 5 hours, which allows me to assess how much information can be found and how far I can go with each family line. From there, the research can be extended as far as the records allow and as far as you'd like to go. You will always be kept informed, and I will suggest additional hour blocks clearly and openly, so you remain in full control of the process.

I offer a flexible model: the Family Roots Starter costs $125 USD (5 hours of work). After that, you can add hour blocks at $73 USD per 4-hour block, depending on your goals. The research is fully customized, and you control the pace and scope at each stage.

I need basic information about some of your ancestors — ideally Mexican-born relatives — such as full names, dates, and places of birth, marriage, and/or death. Ideally, at least one ancestor should have been born before 1930, as more recent records are often protected by privacy restrictions and are not always available online. It is also very helpful to have an official document (birth, marriage, or death certificate), as these provide a more reliable starting point and help me correctly identify the person in historical records.

At the end of the project, you will receive a detailed research report, a visual family tree, and digital copies of all the documents and records found. I will also provide guidance to help you continue exploring your family history.

I take my clients' privacy very seriously. All information provided and discovered during the research is handled confidentially and is never shared with third parties without your consent.

My research focuses on Mexican family history, which naturally includes tracing family members who emigrated to the United States — this is fully included in my services. For migration to other Spanish or English-speaking countries, I can generally work with those records as well. However, for countries where records are in other languages or are harder to access, research becomes more limited and I evaluate each case individually. If your family history includes international branches beyond the United States, I will let you know upfront what is possible, what resources are needed, and any potential additional costs, so you can decide how to proceed.

While I do my utmost to find information, in some cases records may be limited or nonexistent. You will always be informed transparently about the results. If no records are found for certain family lines, I will explain the reasons and suggest alternatives (other lines to investigate, complementary archives, etc.). The work done up to that point will be documented and delivered in the final report.

I do not currently offer DNA analysis services, but I may provide this option in the future.

I will keep you updated regularly via email or messages, informing you of progress and important discoveries.

Absolutely! My services can make a meaningful and memorable gift for loved ones interested in their family history. I can fully customize the package to suit your preferences.
